an error occurred while creating the media file

Okay, so I've been racking my brain of trying to figure out out to fix this problem with no luck.

Everytime I click render as I get a message that says
"an error occurred while creating the media file
exception thrown by method called"

I can't render anything. I've searched and searched and I have found no solutions.

It happens in Sony Vegas Platinum 11 AND Sony Vegas Pro 12.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both and nothing.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I had this happen to me once. Have you tried rendering your video in a different format?

It won't even let me open the render box.
I can batch render it but that's all.
